Zero - be prepared for any of them on bid day.

You MUST rank all 3. If you leave one off you did not maximize your options, and you could be without a home on Bid Day.

and you will get a bid to one. Leave even one off... your are gambling with going bidless.

Why even say ranked? If you go into bid day wth three houses you should feel absolutely blessed. PERIOD. Just sayin' don't focus on an subjective rank!

Are you even in a sorority? No, you are not for that stupid comment. 'Ranked sororities' means her MRABA card. But you obviously have no experience with that so don't come on here offering advice.

When the OP is referring to "ranked" she means top tier. Not ranking them on her pref card. Reread the post and think about it......

I apologize for my vague wording. I meant I have 3 left going into pref day. I plan on ranking them all based on the wonderful members I met in each one. I just want to have a sorority home tomorrow and I am very grateful to have choices in such a stressful time. In general, what time do we find out things tomorrow?

if you went to 3 houses during pref round today, you will have a bid tomorrow. You open your bid cards after 7:00 when you get to sorority village and run to your new house.

If I was only invited to pref 2 houses, what are the chances that I'll get a bid to either one? I put both houses on my bid card. I'm worried about cross-cutting!

If you preffed 2 houses and put both on your card you will go home to one of the 2 on your card.

There is no cross-cutting any longer. That used to happen years ago. Quota Additions guarantee a bid to every PNM who attends prefs and ranks all houses. At the end of the bid matching process, any unmatched PNM's (cross-cut) will be matched with one of their houses. Usually it is her first choice, but not always, depending on relative house sizes and maintaining some equity among the chapters.

If you are a quota addition no one- including you- will ever know. Have a great day tomorrow!

If you only preffed one house and turned in a card- have a great relaxing evening! You know what home you will run to tomorrow!

Why are legacys, (with excellent grades, volunteer hours, multiple rec letters, and an excellent reputation) cut at UT?

UT is a large school, and many of the women going through recruitment are legacies. Let's say House XYZ has 125 Legacies going through recruitment...if quota is 50, then at least 75 will have to be released. And this doesn't even leave room for girls who are NOT legacies. Many times legacies will be cut early so they have a better chance of finding their place in a chapter where they are a perfect fit.. But don't worry if you are a legacy and you or your Mom are disappointed initially by a cut. It ALWAYS works out for the best in the end!

many chapters have more legacies coming through recruitment than than they have spots in their pledge classes. No one wants or takes a pledge class of all legacies no matter what you read on here. In most cases being a legacy gets you invited to second round, but after that it becomes a matter of how well you click with the girls you meet; remember that hundreds of girls going through recruitment also have the grades, recs, activities, etc that you do. It feels personal to you right now but it really isn't. Everyone is playing a numbers game.

In many cases legacies are competing among themselves for the available "spots" a chapter is planning to fill with legacies.
If you had prefs today and listed all of those chapters on your MRABA card, you will be joining a great organization tomorrow- Congratulations and have a great bid day!

Legacies are released at every school. Legacy status used to be a bigger thing up until a generation ago, but now there are too many to make that practical. Sometimes there are enough legacies come through to fill entire pledge classes and then some. Any legacy must be a good fit for a chapter to receive a bid, just like all PNM's. They get an extra look and consideration, but can be released.
