Most of the people you'll meet will be from TN, but a lot of them are originally from other states anyway. There's not really a big difference in how people from other states are treated and they hang out in the same groups as in state people.

I was an out of state student and greek life is amazing at UT and it will make or break your college experience. Up North, recruitment is nothing like UT and letters of recommendations are irrelevant so when i say the word "recommendations are recommend" that means if you do not have a recommendation from an alum, they will drop you before rush even starts. There are like 5 sororities that you can get a bid from without a recommendation but that really limits your option. so get a alum recommendation for every sorority!!

I only say this because being an out-of-state student like me and didn't have recommendations for the sororities i really loved sucked and you will love UT way more if your in greek life sadly.
