hazing

So, there's a lot of "No Hazing on Rocky Top" Bs but why do people lie about it? Don't we all know for certain that the fraternities haze in extreme ways? Girls can't deny they don't see the effects it has on the boys pledging. Phi Sig and SAE are especially terrible and have the reputation for it. So why does nobody say anything? And why do they treat their new pledges so horribly? I just don't understand.
