If you are really wanting an honest opinion about the sororities at U.T. STAY OFF THIS SITE!!! Go to the Panhellenic Preview. Go through recruitment with an open mind and do not listen to "tent talk" or the people on Greek Rank. All of the Sororities at UT are great. Go through recruitment with an open mind and see where you fit in best. If you do that, and don't worry about what other people think you will find your life long sisters and your home.

You are a petty person trying to get people to bash DZ . If you truly are from Nashville then you would know a lot of people you could ask. I know lots of Franklin/Nashville girls in DZ, so my guess if you truly are a PNM from Nashville then you would know a lot of those girls. Also if you know anyone on campus they can tell you all about any of the houses. My guess is you are not a PNM.

I agree with LOL but if you are a PNM from Nashville:
You need to come to Spring Preview and decide for yourself which sororities are on top. After you have done that then decide which sorority out of all of them that you fit in best with. Some of the top sororities have their own issues and after their "shine" wears off for you then you realize you chose your friends based on other people's perceptions. DZ is a very good chapter and was a top choice for many girls. There is a lot of self ranking on here but if you take the last several months worth of rankings and average where you see the houses fall then you have a pretty accurate ranking. ADPi, Xo and AOPi are also good sororities. ADPi ends up taking a lot of legacies. XO has their own vibe and you should visit that house and see if you fit in there. AOPi is a top choice for pnms too. The top 7 sororities on this list were most likely the top choice for the all of the sisters in those respective house, but there are some of the lower ranked sororities that were top choices of their sisters because they felt they fit in better there. Some sororities pull from certain cities and fill their houses with a lot of girls who know each other. I wouldn't worry about who is on top.

Yes, I am a PNM, I'm coming to Pan Preview, and I am definitely from Nashville. All I wanted to know was a little real info on DZ, cause down here we always hear, "Tri Delt, Phi Mu, KD, and them our parents say-"but ADPi and AOPi and XO were always tops when I was there!" I just didn't know much about DZ historically at UT, so I was just wondering, not trying to start anything... I should know better than to ask on here, but I don't want to hurt the feelings of any of my friends who are active sisters in DZ or any other sorority, so you tell me how to get this kind of info anonymously any other way, and I will. I know Pan Preview will be fun and exciting, but also heard it was hectic and fast paced. I came up once in the fall and tried to meet as many people as could (outside my current friends, to try and be OPEN MINDED like everyone tells me to) But my UT sorority friends have told me that besides Pan Preview weekend the girls don't like 2nd semester visits from PNM's, so I'm just trying to get honest info anyway I can. Thanks!

DZ is a great chapter at UT and very popular with PNM'S. They have become one of the top chapters the last couple of years. With that being said, the other chapters you mentioned are awesome as well. This is probably not a great site for honest opinions, as there is a lot of jealousy and bashing comments made towards the top houses (ex. comment #5). DZ is actually known for their sisterhood, as is AOPI, PiPhi, ADPI, AXO. among others. Good luck and just go in with an open mind. All the houses here are full of amazing beautiful girls and a few bad eggs who will come on here and try to bring down houses they perceive as more popular than their own.

DZ is definitely moving up but the only place I see them talked about as a "top" house is here. During recruitment the most talked about houses remain to be KD, Phi Mu, Tri Delt, ADPi, and XO. That doesn't mean anything negative about DZ, they just aren't as popular as they makes themselves seem on this website.

To answer your question, yes. During recruitment the top three choices of the majority of the girls I knew, including myself, were DZ, PhiMu, and KD. I was devastated I did not get a bid to any of them, but I am happy with my chapter so I ended up right where I am supposed to be. With that being said, many girls will come on here and bash the chapters who rejected them. With so many girls going through recruitment and being from out of state I did not have connections like a lot of the girls from in state did. I was not offended at all and refuse to bash other houses. The houses here are all good. You will be happy where you land!

Honestly I think dz is better. People are going to decide I'm a dz which is fine but my house is actually staunchly middle tier. I think their sisterhood and their girls are more genuine than any of the other houses that are considered top, and I honestly don't think kd is "up there". This is obviously not everyone's opinion and that's totally cool, I just personally don't think they are. Phi mu and tri delt are perfectly fine but tri delt fell a bit with pc16 and phi mu has always been really fake to me! This just goes to show though that there's really no way of telling until you get through recruitment and see for yourself!

AOTT has been and continues to be a top sorority at UT and across the country. A lot of Memphis girls rush AOTT. They are selective and also support legacies so be prepared to rush hard and let them know that you are interested. I had friends who went to AOTT's preference and were thrilled when they got a bid but many did not. I know a few DZ's and they are nice girls. Go in open minded and enjoy the process. Good luck!
