recruitment advice
by: It's that timeMy advice for girls going through recruitment is to refrain from the so called "tent talk." For those of you who don't know what that is its gossiping about a sorority while waiting under the tents either outside that house or at other houses. You don't know who is around you so don't bash other chapters from rumors you've heard or the "tiers" you see on here. Every girl is different and has different opinions on every chapter so don't try to shame or influence girls that you either just met or have been friends with for years. Chapters could also catch on to the bashing and some chapters will dump you for bashing another chapter because that doesn't show the attitude they are looking for. Also don't forget Gamma Chi s have chapters that they run to on bid day. Don't be the girl who sees the gamma chi you loved all during recruitment run to the house you bashed right in front of her. There are great girls in every chapter and every chapter at UT is wonderful. Hope everyone's recruitment goes well! Trust the system!!

literally this should be required reading for every PNM. People who say crazy mean things about other chapters are clearly speaking from a place of hurt or ignorance, because a smart and self-assured woman wouldn't feel the need to bring others down just so she can stand tall!!

should PNMs ignore the tent talk, they should keep their own preferences quiet. Lots of girls end up pledging (and loving) a chapter they did not care for in the beginning. No one needs to know what you are thinking about the chapters- just keep it to yourself and let everyone think you got your first choice-even if you don't!! It's much easier to make a go of it in your second choice chapter if no one knows it wasn't the one you thought you wanted.
Make a pact with your friends and try not to talk about the chapters among yourselves! You will make a better decision for yourself and everyone will avoid potential awkwardness and embarrassment.
