recommendations
by: HeyHow important are recommendations? I know that most houses require one, but is it necessary to have multiple for each house that requires them? And as for the houses that don't require one, do they still expect you to have one if you want to be considered? I know the "requirements" are given to you on the website, but I am just wondering if the sororities are actually expecting more.

When a sorority says they require a recommendation, they use that as a means of dropping girls. Since the first round is so large and also so quick, the choices for dropping girls comes down to grades, recommendation letters, and if the conversation was engaging. If you are able to get more than one recommendation letter for a sorority that's great and I highly suggest doing that! If you are able to get a rec for a sorority that only recommends it do it! Because they look highly at the girls who went above and beyond the minimum required! Just know recommendations do not automatically mean you will get in a sorority but it definitely helps! Good luck!

Do you think one letter is enough for most houses?
