by: PleaseIt's been said over & over again, but please keep an open mind during recruitment. I'm not saying that some houses don't have prettier girls or swap with better frats, but I am saying you could be the one to change what you didn't like about a particular house; don't let one week of intense showing-off stop you from seeing the potential you have in a house. As creepy as it sounds, based on the girls I have seen coming through recruitment this year, 80% are pretty with good grades (more so than previous years) so where you might have been a top pick for ABC house two years ago, the caliber is just so high you end up with DEF house on bid day. It's crushing go not get the house you fell in love with, I get it. But even the lower houses have plenty of great girls, a beautiful house, and lots of love to shower on their new babies. Maybe the house you got has a low GPA & you feel like you're too smart for that house. Instead of dropping, why not seek to be the change in that house and run for scholarship chair. Next year, you can help recruit the girls with good gpa's and change will come. It has to start with someone, and just because the house doesn't fit you at the moment doesn't mean it can't. If you think the house isn't as involved in intramurals as you'd like, CHANGE IT! I'm not saying overnight a house becomes what you dreamed it would be (I know from personal experience), but I am saying prepare to give a house you weren't thrilled about a chance before you drop.
