The Balanced Man Program is based on continuous, single-tier development divided between four challenges. Balanced Man Program chapters will have the opportunity to participate in four self-paced challenges that progress throughout their entire college experience.

Members in the SIGMA Challenge will focus on time management skills and chapter orientation. The PHI Challenge will help emerging leaders develop leadership skills and gentlemanly behavior. The EPSILON Challenge provides members opportunities to tackle leadership positions within the chapter and campus community, as well as develop a sense of civility. Lastly, members in the BROTHER MENTOR Challenge will focus on their experience after college and will begin developing professional skills for the working world.

SigEp chapters use the Balanced Man ideal of building a sound mind and a sound body to frame their programming ideas. To help develop the Sound Body concept, chapters do not simply participate in intramural sports, but are also encouraged to sponsor annual physicals that measure cholesterol, blood pressure, and screen for different types of cancer. Many chapters have also begun to educate their members on how to prepare healthier meals, which begins by serving healthier meals in the chapter facilities.

"Sig Ep - definitely #1 before they got in trouble for hazing but a lot of the kicked off brothers still hangout at events so they're not bad"

^ No wonder they are still struggling, if they can't embrace values-based change. Without significant buy-in and keeping to timeframes and standards, they are doomed.

Delta Kappa Epsilon is truly a life-long allegiance. The ties that bind us together stop not at graduation, at state or national boundaries, at political or philosophical lines, or even in war. That love which comes from the combination of stout hearts and kindred interests is truly special; it lasts while life lasts. DKE's stated goals are the "Objects of Delta Kappa Epsilon":

"The cultivation of general literature and social culture, the advancement and encouragement of intellectual excellence, the promotion of honorable friendship and useful citizenship, the development of a spirit of tolerance and respect for the rights and views of others, the maintenance of gentlemanly dignity, self-respect, and morality in all circumstances, and the union of stout hearts and kindred interests to secure, to merit its due reward."

5 US Presidents.
