how strict is the "minimum gpa requirement?"

by: PNM 3.0

Hey there! I'm a PNM, a rising freshman, and I just got my final report card... And I have a 3.19 for senior year. How strict is the minimum GPA requirements for the houses that require a 3.25? I really don't mean to come off like I expect anyone to break the rules for me! I totally accept it if it's strict and I won't be allowed to participate with those sororities. I was just wondering because I've never really heard anyone else talk about the requirement before? Also, I have a 3.34 overall for high school. Can I use that GPA to meet the requirement, or is it strictly the senior year? Thank you so much in advance!

Use your high school gpa! The minimums are pretty strict-- most chapters minimums are set by nationals. We have no control over that. It also depends on how high the other pnms gpas are. Best of luck!!

3.34 is a pretty high GPA for students admitted to UT. You'll be fine. Trust me, almost all sororities here are admitting girls below the stated minimum.

Do they count weighted GPA's? I was in AP and honor classes all through out highschool so my GPA may be "lower" than the girl who took regular, easier classes .

They don't really look at that stuff. As long as you have above a 3.2 you should be okay
