is it too late?

Is it a bad idea to try to join a sorority as a Junior? I started at community college and I transfer to UTK. My GPA is a 3.7. I don't even know if Juniors are allowed but I'd thought I'd ask if anyone would know please message :) Thank you!

You should rush if you want to.

Don't ask opinions on something like that because you'll hear all different ones and it doesn't matter what anyone else thinks. All that matters is how you feel. Give it a go and if it feels good for you then do it, if not then don't. Simple as that. There is no set answer for any of this stuff, you have to experience it for yourself and make up your own mind. If you don't get a bid, then they didn't want you and you probably wouldn't have been happy anyway and you saved yourself a bunch of money. If you get a bid and it turns out it wasn't for you, then drop. None of this is that big of a deal or set in stone.

Definitely go through rush if it's something you want to do, just be aware your age will be a limiting factor in your recruitment experience. As unfortunate as it is, sororities tend to do better when they have consistency in numbers and members, members who join freshman yeah are introduced to the system and expectations and all the requirements and time management skills required to join and be an active member. You grow in your knowledge of the sorority and its history and can help build it if you join earlier. Those members who join late are by no means incapable or thought less of, but it just is harder to give bids to girls who won't be around as long and make as much financial contributions and aren't familiar with the image the chapter wants to promote. You will have fun but won't be quite as close to a younger pledge class who are at different points in there college experience. Many girls do it and it's just a different experience, much like transferring and affiliating with a chapter etc...do you just be aware your options are a lot more limited
