They are a historically black sorority however they are Panhellenic many people are not as familiar with them because they were founded at hbcu’s if you haven’t heard of them you should research it. Many of the more prominent sororities and fraternities were discriminatory towards minorities which is one of the reasons that hbcu’s created their own Greek fraternities

If you've never heard of this sorority how can you objectively in all fairness rate them and submit an accurate review? Alpha Kappa Alpha is apart of Historically Black Colleges & Universities (HBCU) sorority community for African American women. When African Americans were finally accepted into predominantly white colleges and universities, today, you will find African American sororities and fraternities on most campuses throughout the country.

Genuinely had a terrible experience interacting with these girls. I am no longer in Greek life so I have no qualms putting this out there. During an event where we were supposed to break barriers and bring the Greek councils closer, these girls were just cliquey and awful. They made fun of me and gossiped about me to my face. They would walk away from me when I tried to be their friend. I knew it was about my race, but I was trying my best. I was the only non-D9 girl in the group, and they made sure to alienate me the best they could. It sucks when in public they constantly want to be included with other councils but behind closed doors this is how they treat people.
