Any horror stories about not reciving a bid?

Yea here's one it was my first semester at Uta (transfer) and I decided to rush. I met a group of guys belonging to a frat and I hung out with and went to their events (rush week). It was bid day and I had gotten a text telling me to head to school to receive my bid, well when I arrived there was no there except to two members of the fraternity and they basically told me that I wouldn't be receiving bid that I should try to increase my "skills".
