First I want to address that every sorority has something different to offer and had a "personality" of its own. However, organizations are made up of a group of girls a stereotype will only cover about 70% of the organization. You can probably get along or work with every girl in pan, but the sororities have unique qualities as a whole.

Adpi: I will just let you know now, this sorority is COMPETITIVE. I used caps for a reason. If you are bothered by this then keep that in mind. There is a reason why they are number one because of that competitive drive in EVERYTHING. They like to win and they like to look the best; if you have a competitive drive and like to do your best then this may be the sorority for you.
Tridelt: This sorority has been right up there with adpi for years. They were as involved this past year which is why some people are ranking them lower; I won't make this mistake. This sorority is a more diverse and less competitive version of adpi. They are free spirited and fun! If you want to be in a diverse sorority that is still competitive than this may be the sorority for you.
Dg: This sorority has been considered middle tier until this year. They are FUN. You can always count on a dg to be a fun time. They are also competitive but I would say less than tridelt and a lot less than adpi. Some girls are extremely free spirited and seem like mix bag of people. They have more of a "cool" vibe. If you like to be free spirited and have lots of fun then ...

Middle Tier:
Kd: This sorority has been on the rise this past year. They did very well in recruitment. If adpi had an understudy it would be kd. Their nickname used to be unicorns because of their lack in greek participation, but they really tried to up that this year. I see only a few of them out and some in the library. If you want sorority that is more laid back with philanthropies and events but still has a sisterhood/social aspect then this is the sorority for you.
Sig delt: This sorority has a great philanthropy! People love to compete in it. However that is really all I can say. They have been better at recruitment than in the past. This would be dg's understudy. Again, this sorority is a mix bag of girls I wouldn't say there is a real type. If you want to join a sorority with different personalities and girls with many different interests this may be the sorority for you.
Zeta: Zeta is rebuilding right now. A few years ago you could almost consider them top. They could be considered tri delta's understudy. Fun group of girls who are also very diverse. They don't participate in much and I don't hear much about them. If you are looking for a laid back sorority that likes to have fun this may be the sorority for you.
Bottom Tier: I don't really know enough of these women to accurately say something.

Go with an open mind but also really evaluate yourself and what you are looking for not only in a sorority but in yourself. A sorority and college WILL change you I don't care if you don't think it won't... it will. Choose the sorority that will help you move in the direction you want. Also, if you look at the sororities a large noticeable difference is looks. Don't be miss informed or uneducated. Looks do play a factor, you would be foolish to think this doesn't effect most aspects of life. Looks are not the only factor though; sororities also want women who are going to add to their org. Think about what the sororities are looking for in a member; if a sorority is competitive they want a member who will help them win. If a sorority cares about diversity, unique cultural backgrounds may be important. If a sorority is free spirited then a member who loves to travel might interest them in a recruitment conversation. Think of recruitment as an interview. Good luck and be yourself; you will be happier this way.

I'd have to say, I'm in one of the middle sororities, while I won't mention which, and I think you nailed this. Pnms, just keep in mind while going through, find where YOU fit best. Don't try to be an adpi when you have your best conversations at zeta. Keep notes. Find where you feel happiest. If you get cut somewhere, it's for a reason. I got cut from my top on the last day but could not be happier where I ended up. Keep an open mind. It's a stressful week, but every conversation, and everything that happens, is for a reason.
