remember a few things and truly think about what you want and evaluate the things you think are important in a sorority while you have a break from recruitment.
1. remember that you are not defined by the chapter that you run home to. you do not find your identity in the letters that you wear.
2. forget the “tier” system and choose your home based on what you value and how you feel in different chapters, not what you see on greekrank (which is not an accurate representation of chapters, just how people on the outside feel).
3. being “top tier” doesn’t make you better than one another and it’s important not to pit chapters against another.
4. if you got dropped from your top houses, it is not the end of the world, there could be a house that you overlooked that is better for you in the long run.
5. you are joining a chapter because you want sisterhood and community, it’s not about popularity or looks, we aren’t in high school anymore.
6. there is absolutely nothing wrong with choosing to be in a mid to lower tier chapter, wherever you feel comfortable should be the deciding factor.
7. don’t forget to have fun. recruitment can be overwhelming, but you’ll be gaining some amazing sisters and memories when it’s over.
