predictions for the next 5-10 years

USF Greek life is in a big transitionary period right now and this is how I think the next ~5 years will go
-Greek life will get even smaller due to a lack of interest and lack of marketing, PHA will eventually go back to recruiting from Greek village when they no longer have the money/size for the MSC. Campus total will get back up in the long run, but the next few years will be a change.
- despite shrinking, the new prez will offer more support and when Greek life is prepared to start growing again, it will come back stronger.
- IFC will actually get itself together. They will start enforcing bylaws, holding chapters accountable, and will likely end the open door policy. The number of fraternities on campus will decline due to both a lack of interest and more strict enforcement of rules. New chapters won’t come on as fast as old chapters leave.
- this site will fall out of fashion in the next 2-3 years, PHA may pay to have the whole site wiped/removed from Greek rank. This will be an improvement.
- Panhellenic hazing will get more popular until a chapter loses their charter (or possibly is suspended for a year/put on some kind of public probation), my money is on ADPi because their nationals already came down once this year to intervene about it. This will be a wake up call for everyone else
- Snu’s expansion will pave the way for more customization of houses. The chapters with more alumnae support and bigger executive offices will be more successful as they will be more able to expand/improve their houses
- PHA will continue to lose focus of values based/no frills recruitment and this will make the tier system a lot more variable from year to year
- because of this, the majority of chapters will be what we’d call middle tier and ranks will be somewhat as follows based on current moves that are/aren’t being made:
Top (in order)
KD, GPB
Middle (in alphabetical order to account for shifting)
ADPi (assuming they’re still here), AOII, Chi O, DDD, DG, ZTA
Bottom (in alphabetical order)
SDT, SK

I don’t see gamma phi being top and aoii will stay bottom. Chip or sk could be middle in 5-10 but not aoii. Don’t see why sdt would go that low.
Pha will not pay to get site removed.
The most shifting will happen within ifc, as always it is easier for fraternities to move up and down. Sigma Chi will go down possibly, sigma nu will be solidly top tier along with phidelt. Verdandi will fall apRt and fraternities like Sigma Pi, Fiji, and even SAE will be mid tier in just 2-4 years.
Imo, KD is already solidly ahead of Adpi but that will continue. Zta willl go up and up due to zta rep at other Florida schools. Trident and ADPi are questionable but will still be at least mid.

I think usf Greek is finishing it’s shrinking phase and will get bigger pretty soon now that we have a sig chi president.
IFC will never get it together though, don’t hold your breath. And Panhellenic would never go back to recruiting in the houses. I do think we’ll move recruitment to spring though because not enough PNMs go through
The bottom two ranks here is the only thing I really agree with. KD won’t stay top for long, they have nothing going for them but looks and they’re gonna crash pretty soon. I think that specifically will shake up the lower tiers. No ones going to get anything for hazing.
Ranks I think will be more like
Top
ADPi (might fall for a bit but will come back), ZTA (on the way up for sure), DDD (maybe, could fall)
Upper middle
DG, GPB, Chi O (they’re making moves even if no one notices)
Lower middle/bottom (I had these as two separate tiers but the whole order here is way up in the air so I combined them)
KD (could be a bit higher or lower but definitely not near the top), AOPi (maybe), SK (maybe a lot higher if they keep recruiting well but they’re 50/50), SDT (definitely the lowest)

You’re really underestimating looks. PNMs notice who is hot. I’m no defender of KD but they’ will stay a top house as far as I can tell. ZTA will be a top house within next few years.
The only chapter I would say will absolutely stay bottom is aoii. Chi Omega might have better chance of rising than SK only because Chi O has solid rep at UF and FSU. I guess SDT could go down or up, gamma phi is same, although prob more likely to go up than sdt. Poth wasn’t as good this year but overall still great event, one of most popular.
Ddd will stay relevant just because they’re ddd but they won’t be top, already aren’t in my opinion. DG will stay top or Moro mid just because they are down to earth and cute.
For fraternities I totally agree that people underestimate Fiji, SAE and pikapp too

Every single comment on this post (and the original post too) is a train wreck of empty speculation. There are way too many factors to predict anything 5-10 years from now for Greek life as a whole, let alone for specific chapters’ ranks. In 10 years there’ll probably be at least one more sorority, maybe two, and a few more/different fraternities. That alone makes predictions absolutely useless
