It’s not going to hurt you but it may not help you. It’s more important that your social media is on public and you’re following all the chapter instagrams.
Also keep in mind that sorority women won’t be allowed to message you about recruitment (or respond to you if you ask them, or like or comment on your posts) during the recruitment period because it’s considered dirty rushing and the whole chapter could get in trouble!
Overall it’s probably not worth going through the trouble of finding and following strangers, but if you know them from high school or something go for it. A personal connection means more than you following 40 strangers
