why do most sorority girls major in marketing?

Depends on the sorority. The more academic they are, the more health and biomed you will see. Those sororities will be the ones with more emphasis on grades and they will also be the ones with the higher GPAs

Wrong...they DON’T have the highest GPAs even though they have business majors ...which was my point. I believe it’s DG, ChiO, GPhi

Yes you’ll meet a lot of sorority girls who are marketing majors and other “easy” majors but you’ll meet many of those outside of Greek too. There are plenty of science, math, accounting, computer sci majors in Greek. Also there are academic minded girls in each chapter and you can find a group of girls that are very committed to getting good grades in each chapter.

Well that’s not my major personally but I’ll tell you why.
Marketing is big and it’s only getting bigger with all of the advertising and data collection going on right now. It’s also a major which will get someone a very “social” job where networking can be a huge conponent of your income. The major itself is comparatively easy and gives a bit of free time, so it’s a great major for a sorority sister. Those with Marketing majors find it easier to boost the chapter GPA, too. Greek life itself also has the perk of networking opportunities. So all in all, if you’re coming in with a major like Marketing or Mass Communications, Greek life will benefit you a bit more- and will be more manageable- with these majors. Not saying there aren’t any Pre-Med or Engineering sorority sisters, since there are quite a few. Greek is still manageable with a difficult major, especially here at USF. (I just wouldn’t go out partying every night.)
