recruitment and social media
by: .I've read on here and various sites to clean up social media before recruitment. Do sororities really look at that? If your social media is private is it better? Can you not mention drinking at all?? How much does it matter

What ohhoney said ^^
If your posts include a lot of pictures where you're drinking or appear to be and if your retweets and likes are all about drinking at the very least you'll come off immature and low class.
This isn't to say if you drink sororities aren't for you lmao because most of the girls in every sorority drink BUT being stupid about your social media is a huge red flag. This is true for every sorority in each tier! If anyone is telling you differently they're lying.
You don't have to make your stuff public but it's not a bad idea. Have cute pictures on instagram that showcase your personality. If you have one or two likes on twitter about alcohol or whatever it's not a huge thing but if 80 percent of your twitter is that then either delete or make private. Be aware though that someone who knows someone might still be able to see it.

I agree with the answers above but heres some bonus advice, it isn't just about your social media. When you go to the houses and meet them in person be nice to every house, we know not everyone wants every house but just be nice to everyone because guess what? Houses that don't want you will usually still be super sweet while talking to you even if they plan on dropping you.

This is definitely applicable for guys as well. Don't think a rush chair won't be going through your pictures for any "red flags". And don't be surprised if you later hear that that embarrassing picture from your freshman year of high school was included in the voting slideshow.
