Not trying to be rude, but if you are more concerned with the reputation of your organization to those in the community than the connections and sisterhood within your organization, then maybe Greek Life isn't for you.

Everyone will have a different opinion on this.

Personally i would rather be gdi than in a bottom tier, but that's just me. It's not to say there are no positives to being in a sorority that isn't "top" but, for me, the negatives outweigh the positives. You can create lasting friendships, have tons of friends, and participate in amazing clubs/groups/athletics without being in a sorority, ESPECIALLY at USF where Greek life isn't a big huge thing.

Being in a top sorority here truly is a bit different and the social opportunities seem more substantial and there is a certain appeal, if you're into that sort of thing.

I say this as a girl who got cut and ended up in a low-mid as a freshmen. I stayed in most of my first year but it always felt a little off to me, like I wasn't having a lot of fun but I was pretending to, and I knew people in other chapters who were clearly not pretending . It' is difficult to explain, but as a lower tier I always felt like I was pretending to live the stereotypical Greek life but I wasn't.

DISCLAIMER: this is my personal experience and I realize it's not the same for everyone! Some people LOVE being in non-top-tier sororities and fraternities and probably don't feel this sense of "pretending" that I did. I have friends and acquantiinces in almost every sorority and many of the fraternities and everyone has a different perspective. I would encourage you to go through rush and be open-minded, but be true to yourself

Depends on if you're asking as a girl or guy, guy in lower tiers can do fine if tall and/or good looking. For girls I would say top tier or bust
