by: PnmHey y’all! I’m thinking of rushing but am a little confused about how sororities and fraternities are ranked! Like what goes into a sorority being top tier vs bottom tier if that makes sense?

Rankings really don't mean anything because Greek life is so small here. They exist but they don't carry much weight. All sororities mix and have good formals and go to parties so go where you genuinely like people. If you're in it for a ranking that gets you status you're doing it for the wrong reasons and also picked the wrong school for that

Tier rankings mean nothing at UVM, I know girls in top tiered sororities who hate it and only stay in it for the perceived status and girls in lower tiered sororities who are having a great time. Low tiered sororities mix with the same frats as upper tiered ones. Please do not make the mistake of rushing because of the sororities ranking, because no one at UVM cares besides for first semester freshman. Go where you feel the most at home, otherwise you will regret it.

Sure everyone might get into most of the same parties, but there’s a reason you’ll see a bunch of girls from certain sororities and not a lot from the others. It’s not because some of them don’t like to party, but unfortunately because some of them get 70 spots given to them for a list and others only 10. So pictures that, each sorority has about 100 girls and certain ones you join are going to have you fighting for 1 of those 10 spots every weekend

No that's not right at all . . . All sororities are allowed to invite balanced amounts back after rounds and can give out however many bids they want. All sororities go to parties. This is a weird and inaccurate take
