Do you think adding pi phi will affect the tiers a lot?

Not immediately although they do have a huge name nationally and I'm sure there will most likely be some legacies who end up going through recruitment/joining. But just based off the fact that they will be brand new, they are going to start off as a middle/lower tier chapter. I predict they go through the same sort of experience as kappa delta, but given their stronger national presence, they certainly have the opportunity to move up quickly.

It's hard to say. Pi phi isn't as strong nationally as KKG, Theta, KD, AXO, and Gphi, but is stronger nationally than Aphi and AdPi. I don't see it becoming a top tier. It will probably be middle tier, like it is at most other schools, it will just depend in years to come how it ranks against AXO, Theta, KD, Adpi, as these will be its main contenders, but I don't see it passing up AXO, KD, or Theta, at least anytime soon because it just doesn't have as strong of an alumni/national base as these three.

I think they might pose a threat to Theta, KD, and ADPi this semester. The girls who are already wearing piphi letters are pretty cute, but the fact of the matter is a lot of the best freshmen PNMs will want to be in a well established top tier sorority like Alpha phi or KKG. But within a few years I could see piphi overtaking AXO and Gphi because of national recognition.

Naw dude I don't see them having any effect for a long time. They will only get the girls who got dropped from all of the other houses.

Personally I will be rushing this year and I don't want to join a sorority that is so new, so Pi Phi would be my last choice, except for Adpi. I want a sorority that is more established. So I think other girls will be thinking this too

I don't think it'll affect the rankings for at least a few years. Although Adpi might finally not be dead last anymore, but they'd probably get passed in a couple years. After that it's anyones guess.

I heard they're only going to be at the first day of formal recritment? Is that true? If so wouldn't they just get leftovers who drop out or get dropped by everyone...

But that isn't a bad thing. I know my year a lot of my friends didn't get houses they wanted so they backed out of Rush because they didn't like the houses they were left with. The name being popular it might get a lot of good girls that get over looked. With that being said, it might also be a lot of girls that no sororities want due to bad reputations. It will probably be a mix. They would not be strong enough to go through all of rush just yet!

The thing I've noticed with pi phi is that they haven't done much pre-recruitment work; I.E. Tabling, informal recruitment in fall, getting their name out there which is crucial when establishing a new chapter. The reason KD was able to do well in rush in spite of their somewhat new status is because of their work to get recognized on campus. I wish the ladies of pi phi luck but they're gonna have to work a little harder to recruit/get their name out.
