sophomore transfer
by: allieI may be transferring next year as a sophomore. Can anyone comment on what my chances are to get into a sorority during formal rush? Are freshmen given preference. Also, how active are the houses in the Continuous open bidding process in the fall- for those who did not rush in the spring. Thank you in advance.

Hi Allie,
Your chances can only be determined by you, and your grades. If you have good grades, a great personality, and are cute you will have no problem! There isn't really an age preference at all.
As for COB, it depends on quota, but there are usually only 2-3 sororities that COB in the fall. ADPi and PiPhi will most likely be the ones CObing, but with a phi gone it's really anyone's game!

Hey girl! Sorry I just saw this, I was a transfer who rushed and I had a great experience! Hopefully youll see this. Dont do COB it cuts off your chances of potentially finding another great fit. There are only 3 maybe 4 chapters who participate in COB. Being a transfer doesnt have that big of an impact on your chances of getting into a sorority so please give it a shot and keep an open mind. Communicate with the girls and be honest I'm sure they will love you!
