Its nothing close to the South, but Greek life is pretty significant in regards to the influence and popularity they have on campus. Most major leadership positions around campus are held by Greeks, a lot of the best parties will be at fraternities. A lot of GDIs will tell you otherwise, but they really won't understand what they're missing out on until they've actually experienced the benefits. Of course, it also depends if you're in a good house for what you're interested in.

Geeds will try and tell you that "You don't need to go Greek to have fun." It may be true for the girls, but any guy that likes to party will find themselves rushing after a semester of doing nothing. Also, those same geed girls almost exclusively attend greek parties, so save yourself the trouble and rush. It is a blast.
