What are the chances of getting into a sorority during the spring as a sophomore transfer student? Should I even bother?

Yes! Being a transfer doesn't matter. I say go for it. However, keep an open mind. While your standing MAY slightly affect which houses will be open to you (some prefer freshmen) I've seen plenty of transfers and even juniors find their fit.

some houses will be open in the spring and some won't, that's just how it is. but like "doit" said there are houses that don't care what year you are and being a transfer shouldn't matter. try to make some friends in sororities to try to find your fit because spring rush is very different from formal fall recruitment.

This isn't the SEC where you're screwed if you don't pledge first semester freshman year. I haven't really seen any prejudice against "older" students, but you won't know if you don't give it a shot.
