can international exchange students join a sorority?

Do sororities take exchange students if they're just here for one sem? I'm not a freshman either so don't know if my chance of getting a bid will be slim to none and I shouldn't bother, or if exchange students are in fact welcome

There’s no point of rushing if you’ll only be here for a semester, and sororities will be unlikely to take you.
