informal rush

Still thinking I want to be in a sorority even though formal recruitment didn't work out for me. Is it weird to go back to houses that dropped you? Will I just get cut again or are things different in the fall?

Sorry honey, but yes, you will get cut, at least from any of the good ones. This isn't one of those, "Hey-she-really showed-a-lot-of-heart-for-coming-back" deals.

Fall can be extremely competitive. There are girls who did not get a bid in the Fall, but had they Rushed in the Spring, they could have. There are only a few slots. Do not go back to anyone who cut you. I'm sure you are a great person and I'm sure you could find a sorority if you really want to be in one.

You can go back to houses that cut you. DZ took 8 girls in the fall all who did formal rush and dropped out and were cut. Cuts can be so arbitrary or sometimes there literally aren't enough spots for all the girls they want. Definitely try it just don't count on it

I think Tri Sig took a lot of girls that might have otherwise rushed in the fall. So competition shouldn't be too bad with any houses that have openings.
