letters of recommendations

I will be going through formal recruitment this spring and wonder about the importance of letters of recommendations. They seem to not be emphasized that much, but I wonder if that is the truth. Are they important to any of the sororities? How else does a chapter learn about what the recruits have done in their lives?

A rec letter might help you get past the first round, but other than that they don't do much. I know some sororities don't even read them. It's not crucial to have one & be successful during rush

Don't bother with rec letters. I do not think one sorority reads them.
