informal
by: 3rd YearSo, I'm thinking about doing informal recruitment as a third year transfer student. Do I have any chance what-so-ever to getting into a sorority?

I'm transferring too. I am in one of the top houses at my school, a school with a very strong greek system, and it doesn't make sense to me to join here as a 3rd year. I will tell you the experience in an amazing chapter with history, tradition and social clout is way better. But if you just want to be greek for the sake of being greek, go for it. The sorority you join can seriously expand, or limit your social circle. I imagine that's the case at UVA. Greek life honestly gets old after sophomore year. I'd rather be a GDI here and get good grades.
Do you really want to be the cougar at mixers, or be babysitting your pledge class?

Thank you or that word of advice. Honestly I am hesitant to go through this process if it means I will not even get a bid as a 3rd year. I want to join something so that I can make friends but honestly I don't know any other way right now.
