Tri Sig definitely does not deserve all the horrible rankings they have gotten. I know a girl who came to UVA as shy, quieter girl and left here a changed person for the way better. I have to say, that's thanks to Tri Sig. Yes, maybe some of the girls are a bit shy and can be a little awkward at times, but they are also gorgeous and just need a little self-confidence. I'll admit, they could stand to improve their image a bit, but all the bashing on them isn't going to give them the confidence they need.

Hey, I was a theta at another school. Each school is different, each year is different. One has to go through rush with an open mind. Size and popularity of sororities come and go. You have to look at the girls who are there NOW. These are people you will be friends with and do things with. You don't have to like everyone, you just have to like the feel. Do you like the house, are they friendly and nice TO YOU! Do you hit it off with them. It is fun to have a group of people to hang out with. Remember, you are only meeting a few people, first impressions can be wrong. The reputation of a sorority changes over time and YOU can change the reputation of a sorority by your impact. Take a chance--do not do what your friends say or do--join where YOU feel comfortable! Do not be a sheep--be a doer!

As is true in so many situations, Sorority life is what you make it. A smaller group means you get to have meaningful relationships with more of the girls. You get more of a say in what goes on in the sorority. Tri Sigma has great girls that are independent and don't care so much about status and name recognition. So much more interesting than the houses where everyone dresses and acts the same!
