sorority comments

i have nothing bad to say about sororities. but if you didn't get into one that you liked. don't make it such a big deal. that just shows that you let labels define who you are.

to "appalled"... i'm sure virtually every girl has an opportunity to get a bid to at least one sorority. just because that person decided to decline their bid or drop out because they didn't like the sororities they had left... does not mean other girls shouldn't be able to be happy about where they were accepted.

this week was a total waste of time & money.

to hm - your statement shows just how shallow and uncaring you truly are. It's fine for girls to celebrate but rubbing it in the noses of those they snubbed is really low class. Let us know how you feel when someday your husband cheats on you because he realizes you are such a fake and are so self involved. You are a selfish and dispicable person.

to I think - it was a great week for the Greek system at UVA. They made a ton of money of all you girls and got their jollies by judging all of you and destroying the self esteem. Yeah - sororities are all about empowering women. But it's just the women with Daddy's checkbook.

to appalled--it's ridiculous. you spend $60 to rush & I personally spent about $200 buying my outfits, as well as money on namecards & other things I needed, and didn't get a bid I wanted. so frustrating.

to I think - please do not let the shallow nature of sorority rush allow you to feel less about yourself. They are the ones who have shown they are less. It is like high school and they all act like friends and sister for the public. Behind closed doors it is very different. Also remember that the money you spent on rush is nothing compared what they would take from you once you pledged.

Honestly - the somputer glitch is nothing compared to the dirty rushing at UVA. Delta Gamma and Alpha Phi are the dirtest going.

appalled - How do you know? I don't doubt it, but where is the "proof" I guess. As far as dirty rushing goes, I've always heard that it's Kappa and Theta that dirty rush, but I could be wrong. One of my friends also got dirty rushed by Pi Phi (even though she didn't end up there).
