Completely Cut from Rush

by:

Why would a girl get cut from every single house during rush and then get a snap or cob only to be asked not to initiate? Anyone heard of this happening?

Happens to about 40% of girls every year

If that many girls are dropped or left without a bid, why doesn’t UVA bring in more chapters?

Because that's not what happens and not how it works. There is not a pre-set limit on bids; the more pnm's sign up and stay in the process, the more bids are given. A new chapter is only brought in when it is determined that the chapter memberships are growing too large. The pnm's not getting bids are the drop outs, the ones fixated on only a few houses and don't get invited back to them so they rage quit because they have the idea that the other houses that actually WANT them are somehow beneath them. All sororities here are good, are far more alike than different, and offer a great sorority/social experience.

Nope, never heard of that scenario. Getting cut from every single house is rare and you have to be really bad at rushing for that to happen. What really happens is girls will say they got cut from all houses but in actuality they have dropped out of rush themselves because they felt they were too good for the choices they had left. And being asked not to initiate is most often because their grades are too low, so they get another chance to get them up before the next initiation.

You will get cut from recruitment altogether if you badmouth houses. And yes, it has happened.
