Sorority 2nd year quotas
by: pnmI heard sororities have quotas for 2nd yrs and wanted to know if this is true, thanks! Also is it a disadvantage or advantage to rush as a second yr?
#1 by: quotas
It is important to understand that quota is the maximum limit a sorority can take, not a required minimum. Sororities aren't forced to take a certain quota, they are limited by the quota. With that said, there are separate quotas for 1st years and upperclassmen. The quotas are not pre-determined, they all depend on how many pnm's are left at the end of the process and sign cards after pref. That is when quota is set and when more girls sign cards the quotas are higher.
There are pros and cons for rushing as a second year. Pro is the separate quota so you are not competing with first years, who are more desirable, for spots. Also if you have been here for a year already you already know members in sororities who could pull for you. Let these girls know you are interested. It's harder if you are a 2nd year transfer and don't know anyone but certainly not impossible at all.
