How do snap bids work?
by: WonderingI know they can be given if a chapter doesn't reach their quota, but when would that happen? and does a PNM express any interest to any of the chapters that have released them (like through their Pi Chi maybe?) or the chapters just look back at who they released and ask a few girls they liked?

Snap bids are offered as soon after bid matching as is practical in the morning and are all completed before 5:00 on bid day. If you are extended a snap you will have 2 hours to accept. Snap bids are bids like any other and you will go to your new house to accept with everyone else who opens her bid on bid day. There is no way to express interest in a snap, you will just have to hope that a house who fell short of quota liked you enough to want to extend you one. No, your Pi Chi can't tell a sorority that you want a snap.

To do snap bids -do the sororities get a list of names of girls who are out of the running, so they can look down the list and see if any names jump out at them, as being someone they liked but was released? They have met so many people, just wondering how they recall who they liked who might not be getting a bid from another chapter
#7by: stop with the snaps
Stop counting on getting a snap bid. The rush system and release figures at each round, including pref, make sure that the event of a house not reaching quota has a low probability. There would only be a handful of snaps offered among all combined houses, if any. No one can possibly predict who or how many, and anything you would hear on this site is nothing to go on.

Can someone please clarify the Snap Bidding process? I thought Snap Bids are only given out up until the Bid Day activities at 3? Can a group give a Snap Bid out to someone as long as she hasn't opened her Bid Card?
I also thought that you can only SB up to Quota. Is snap bidding now over?
