transfer sorority

by: abcd

I'm really considering transferring to UVA next fall and I am already in a sorority at my current school. I was wondering how it works transferring in, are you automatically accepted into the chapter at UVA? can they deny you? Is it a hard/easy transition? Also I have a friend who is considering transferring also but isn't in a sorority already, is it hard to rush as a transfer? Thxxxx

Affiliation is not automatic. The sisters of the house you are in get to vote on you.

Not even remotely true. If you have affiliated with a sorority at another school you are automatically in that sorority at UVA.

If u are coming from a school where ur house is not as strong and want to affiliate with a top house here, it helps a lot of u know girls here in ur sorority. If not it can be iffy.

this is bs, if you transfer and are in the same srat you’d have to really mess up to not get voted in. like start beef w the sisters or something. otherwise you’re basically guaranteed

Idk if it’s standard across sororities, but I was in a sorority that is considered to be “top” and we pretty much automatically accepted every transfer. We had a “vote” but it was always 100% in favor of the transfer joining. I wouldn’t worry too much about it!
