2nd Year Going Through Rush

by: 2nd year

So I dropped out of rush because I was dropped by pretty much two thirds of the houses. I thinking about going through again but honestly the experience was so hard Im not sure I want to do it again.

Will I be dropped at the same rate as a second year?

Not likely. Most people who rush again as a second year are glad they did.

And I can honestly say I don’t know anyone who went through rush twice. But it’s probably a little softer here

I rushed with a group of three gals as second years, two of us rushed before, the other one hadn’t. Me and my friend who had rushed were dropped by a majority first year. She had almost the exact same experience, with almost fewer houses and ended up dropping but I had a ton of houses even where I didn’t have connections ask me back and I had a great time. Our other friend is who had never rushed did great as well.

Basically, it’s still a numbers game but it also depends on you! How have you changed as a person, do you know how the conversations will go so you can be prepared, do you have stylish outfits, do you have connections, etc. I’m glad I rushed again because I would have regretted not knowing if it might have worked out.

“Me and my friend” is low class improper grammar. How did you even get into uva? No wonder you had to rush twice.

Everyone knows me and my friend is incorrect but people that continue to use it definitely lack polish.

Most of the people i know that rushed twice ended up dropping out during recruitment their second year.
