past sororitys at uva
by: CuriousI know that Phi Mu used to be at UVa until the mid-2000s or so. Have there been any other sororitys that have closed down here as well?

I would love to see Phi Mu come back. Def one of the top tier sororities at UVA during early 90s with large pledge classes. Not really stoners though-I think that reputation may have carried over form the 80s. But the DEA raid in the early 90s changed a lot at UVA. Very naturally good looking, laid back, fun girls. VERY heavy drinkers and popular on the mixer circuit.Every college should have the cool, laid back, come as you are sorority and this was ours back in the day.

by: UVA Early 90s Phi Mu
I was a Phi Mu at UVA in the early 90s. What a bummer the chapter does not exist anymore. I will say, we were extremely chill. Perhaps too chill, which could have something to do with why the chapter doesn’t exist anymore. Back in the day, I was told that our sorority was actually registered as a fraternity so that we could have alcohol on the property (at the time, only fraternities were allowed to have alcohol). I wish I knew more, but all I see is an article in a Charlottesville publication talking about the real estate and the house becoming a boarding house. We had all types of cool and interesting and smart young women. I’ll remember it fondly. ❤️ Maybe it should come back as a secret society.
