ISC/IFC-wide campaigns?

by:

does anyone know if UVA has an event to have all Greek organizations raise money collectively? many universities use a “greek week” or singular events like THON at penn state where greek life is a huge part of the fundraising. obviously each chapter has its own philanthropic obligations but i feel like this could be a really good way to a) obviously raise money b) use the wealth and power in UVA’s wealthy white greek system to contribute to the community as a whole and c) hopefully tear down the ridiculous constructs of “tiers” esp bc it is infamously based on social class at UVA

not sure if there is any precedent on this, or if others thought similarly. ISC and IFC should hold themselves to the standard they’re currently signaling on social media when everyone returns and continue to actively contribute to the community, break down social barriers, and reflect more positively on greek life as a whole

Yes! One example is a student org called braghouse which is having a call of duty tournament between fraternities, streamed on twitch. People donate with subscriptions and follows, it might be 5 per follow and more per subscription to watch? I don’t know anything about twitch or call of duty but I do know that Chi Phi and Sammy played each other and they raised over $700.00 in one game alone, and the tournament hasn’t even started yet!

id love to see more greek life emphasis in Hoothon. people at PSU have mixers for it and everything it could be a ton of fun if the community went all out like they do
