Legacies read this!
by: TruthGirls, just because you’re a legacy somewhere does NOT guarantee you a bid there. 1. There are way too many legacies going through recruitment for all of them to get a bid 2. Legacy status doesn’t mean much, some srats are no longer obligated to invite you back after first round. It’s so annoying to hear girls say they’re going to rush and join XYZ because they’re a legacy and when sororities hear about that it makes them want to cut you to get your ego in check.

Seriously. Stop. We don’t care what sorority your mom or sister were in and we hear about the girls that brag about how their connection is going to help them get a bid. News flash, a lot of you are already at the bottom of our lists

Rec letters don’t mean much and are largely a waste of time for uva. SEC schools are a different story

Ya sometimes they do, it depends though. They do for the Big 5 but I wouldn't bother for mid tier like DZ or DG,anyone can get into them if they try hard enough. But for Big 5 absolutely, rec will help you for sure

Not really, maybe only a couple people at each sorority even read them so they really don’t make a difference. The important thing is to have connections with the girls you talk to during rush

I have a friend at another school who said her whole chapter will review those girls who have recs before recruitment starts - guessing that’s not the case here either?
