If you dropped then no COB and no informal in the fall. That's why it's better to suicide, you would have been eligible for both.

If you sign the card after pref, it's a binding agreement that you will accept the bid you are offered or forfeit your right to another bid for a calendar year. If you don't sign the card, or you suicide and don't get a bid, you are eligible for COB.

The rules seem like a big deal and apparently no one really knows the rules. Therefore lots of abuse using dirty rush

Dirty rush doesn't mean what you think it means. Don't blame 'dirty rush' because things didn't go your way.

Some houses will take more due to quota additions, which ensure that every pnm who attends the pref round and ranks each house where she attends is guaranteed a bid. This is called "maximizing your options." This is the way it works on every college campus and on every college campus girls are disappointed when they don't get what they think they deserve. The vast majority of pnm's here who do not get a 'spot' is because they drop out. They only want a certain house or two and will not consider any other options, despite actually being wanted at other houses. The difference at UVA is in the entitled attitude. If 1000 pnm's registered and stayed the course, only a few would be completely dropped and new member classes would be at least 60 instead of 46

So.... basically growth in the sorority community is being held back by the lowest performing member sororitys. That is evidence that speaks for itself that there's demand for a new sorority.

Completely incorrect. There is plenty of room for growth within the existing sorority community that is not being taken advantage of. A new sorority would just dilute everybody's numbers even more and weaken every chapter. That is not growth. And when bringing a new NPC sorority to a campus, upperclassmen quota and COB is often suspended for a time until the new chapter reaches a certain membership level. Your demand for a different outcome doesn't equal demand for a new sorority.

If every sorority has a different set of values and a different philanthropy, then why don't they recruit on those rather than parent wealth, clothes and physical appearance?

If every sorority has a different set of values and a different philanthropy, then why not let other sororities come to campus and compete for members who share those values and support different charities?

What is ISC and FSL afraid of?

Don't be too hard on the sororities who value looks. Social media is really important to them, maybe more than real life. Focus on your GPA instead
