unc versus uva!

UNC is all in-state. Many more northeastern boarding school kids in top frats at uva

I get it going to UVA when you are from Virginia. People from the northeast here just have money to burn and didn’t have better choices. Rich snobby kids who didn’t have a chance at attending an Ivy but have the money to burn elsewhere to be a stupid frat boy

So far from the truth - plenty of extraordinarily bright kids from all over the country come to UVA that would be competitive at those schools.

Majority of people out of state here seem to have had their top choice be an Ivy myself included. UVA is a good school but it’s no Harvard or Ivy. UVA is hands down better than UNC though

I get going to UVA when you are in state. You save money rather than going to an Ivy. When you are out of state it makes sense to go to an Ivy or a private school like MIT and Stanford or even Duke or Williams. The cost out of state tuition for UVA/Michigan/Cal does not make sense to me. I am from Virginia and economically it makes sense to stay here for my education. If I was in Pennsylvania or New York without a top tier public university I would definitely go to an Ivy. Who wouldn’t? Feel like rich northeasterns here just seem to be the Ivy rejects. The ones that went to Andover or Exeter but couldn’t make the cut to attend an Ivy. So the boarding school crowd is definitely less intellectual and just hear to party and waste daddy’s money. Personally the rich frats boys from the northeast are the worst part about UVA

UNC has a better reputation and more prestige than UVA in the North. Rich northeastern boarding school kids want to go to UNC more than UVA and UNC is more elite than UVA. Go heels!

that is actually laughable. UVA has a way stronger reputation in the North and the top frats are filled with kids from NY, Greenwich, and Jersey. UNC top frats are just filled with kids in-state and perhaps Atlanta. Way more ppl from the North like UVA more than UNC. Wahooo
