sorority rushing as a 2nd year

hey guys! I'm a rising second year and I'm interested in joining a sorority. I'm just a little overwhelmed about doing it haha. should I try to go for informal rush? would it be weird if I was a second year at spring rush? idk. help would be appreciated

You might as well try for informal because you have nothing to lose. But no it’s not weird at all to do spring formal, tons of 2nd years do it! normally it goes well for them given they know some of the people in the chapters. All the sororities take at least a couple second years. Good luck!

I did spring formal as a second year and it was SO much better than first year! I knew more girls and felt way more comfortable. I’d do formal instead of informal so you have more sororitys to choose from, but if you can do informal for one you know you’d love then go for it!

Rushing formal as a second year sucks. You may end up in a “good” sorority, but you end up being stuck in a weird limbo of not being super integrated into the first year pc and then being excluded from the groups the second years have already formed. Don’t recommend.
