upperclassmen quotas
by: third yearI sorority rushed first year and it didn't work out and I decided not to rush this year and then regretted it. If I try spring rush next year, I heard that some sororities have to take a certain number of upperclassmen. Is that only second years or all upperclassmen? Also, which sororities have this?

i think upperclassman quota technically does apply to 3rd years, but you should really consider reaching out to girls you know during informal instead of waiting for the spring. most (almost all) houses aren't going to want to take a second semester 3rd year, but i know several 3rd years who were able to get bids from houses they really liked in the fall.

your best bet is doing informal, there were a few third years who did formal rush this year and were dropped because they were third years... sororities can and will fill secondary quota with second years and no one really wants second semester third years bc by the time youre initiated you have only 1 year left and also its awkward with big/littles , screws with total when you graduate earlier than the rest of your pledge class, etc
i would highly recommend doing informal instead

How big is the secondary quota? Is it an actual number or a percentage of the pledge class?
