informal or formal again?

by:

Sadly I didn’t get either of my tops for pref and then still didn’t get a cob even tho I asked girls I knew in those sororitys about them :( what’s informal rush like in the fall and should I do it? Should I wait for formal again or is rushing as a 2nd year after you’ve been dropped weird?

so if you can do informal I say try that but if that doesn't work out it's really not weird at all to do formal again. I was dropped first year and rushed again second year and noticed that a lot of other girls were doing the same. in the end it worked out better for me and it'll probably work out better for you too.

does anyone know if it’s true that some sororities have to take a certain amount of 2nd years during formal recruitment?

Every sorority has a quota of second years that they have to take during formal recruitment, whether they want them or not. Rushing second year is significantly easier (also you know girls in different sororities)

I think most sororities do have a certain number of openings reserved for 2nd years. Never heard of a 3rd year rushing - only transfering in a sisters from other colleges

Just rush. Zeta, GPB and SSS do fall informal every year

Seems like 2nd years are more likely to skip informal and do formal to get a better selection

Can you participate in informal if you received a bid but do not want to be in the sorority you received a bid from and have dropped from that sorority?

by: Formal

Nah if you accept a bid you have to wait a full year :/ that’s why they make you sign that form after prefs
