didn't join a sorority

It’s impossible for people to get to know the real you after 5 minutes of small talk. It doesn’t define you as a person. I know that’s got to be hard, but focus on the people that do know you and love you. You’ll do great things and a tiny bump in the road cant stop you!

I am really sorry. I know what it feels like to be cut and have no idea why. All I can say is that this seems like the cuts were so heavy because you went through as a second year. Those cuts are brutal, but I promise you that when you dropped out of rush there were girls in houses that were disappointed because they hoped you would come back. I know it's hard to keep a perspective on these things, but your worth is not determined by this process. If you're interested in joining a sorority, you should look into fall informal rush. I think that process is more humane. Again, I am so sorry this was your experience.

Give the ones who invite you back a chance. It’s hard to feel rejected; do things that make you see your worth because you have to be amazing because you had the confidence to even try and you’re at UVA. There are good people in every sorority so keep an open mind and try informal please!!!!

I also rushed as a second year this semester, and ended up in a similar situation where I was dropped by basically every house by prefs. I ended up taking a COB from a house that I was originally not interested in at all, but I'm now really grateful that they gave me a chance. I would say look into informal in the fall and be open to any house. The differences in between houses really aren't as dramatic as they seem on here and during rush. Every house has mixers and formals and philanthropy events, and because sororities are so big you'll find a huge variety of girls with a lot of different interests and personalities.
