3rd round ifc rush

Show up to your 2nd choice around 8:30 or so, they probably have 30 - 50 rushees left in the running and know they aren't everyone's first choice. Let them know that you like the guys there, but you like this other place more. Tell them if you don't get a bid from the other place, you would very much appreciate a bid from them (your second choice). Your second choice probably won't give you a bid, but if you get dropped from your first and your second miscalculated their numbers (say they gave 25 bids expecting 23 to be accepted, when 21 actually were accepted), they might text you up the next day and ask if you'd still like to join them.
Also, yes, depending on the fraternity, probably 10 - 25% of the guys at final hours don't get bids. My fraternity for example gave 35 3rd round invites, and we need to cut that down to 20 - 22. Some guys cut themselves by not showing up or going elsewhere, but we'll still need to cut some ourselves.
