why we need to stop
by: TRUTHThere’s no hiding the fact that Sig Delt did not have a good rush this year. Of course they were at a disadvantage because of the whole tent situation, but with so many girls rushing you’d think it wouldn’t be that much of a problem. The real problem is all of us. We make comments on Greek Rank and in real life that make it sound like joining sororities that we deem to be “bottom tier” is signing a social suicide note. Thats just ridiculous! I know plenty of cool girls in “bottom tier” sororities and plenty of not so cool girls in “top tier” sororities. We can’t create this environment in which people are ashamed to join a couple of sororities and expect our sororities to survive. If you’re reading this and think this doesn’t affect you, think about this: as we deem more sororities “bottom”, more will have to leave UVA and your sorority could be dragged down to be the new bottom. Now for that reason and out of the goodness of your hearts (?), STOP making awful comments on this website and in real life. Thank you.

Yeah. I didn't end up rushing SDT because I didn't feel that "click" with them, but there was definitely this unspoken opinion that they were known to be "undesirable" among the PNMs I interacted with. It made me sad. Yes, I didn't click with them, but they were friendly and had as many merits as all the other houses.

UGH of course that’s going to influence rush!! The PNM’s are impressionable and take posts on this website to be truth. I agree, this needs to stop.
