open houses

I'm a first year planning on rushing. How many open houses should I go to and what should I expect?

You can only really visit like half of the houses each of the open house nights. You probably already know some you want to visit and others you want to avoid. Add to your list some random ones but not too random (Chi Psi). What you should expect to find is lot of guys who are waiting for real events to begin, so don't be weird and make more of it than it is.

Most of the top houses already know basically who most of their pledge class will be.

Have they given bids already?

the guys that are in the top houses have received their bids and do not have to attend rush.
