hidden girls
by: scaredI’ve heard some nasty rumors about sororities that hide girls during rush, as in don’t let them talk to girls rushing because they’re not as pretty or something. Is this true? If so what sororities do this??? I’d really hate to join a sorority just to find out they treat sisters that way. Thanks!

I used to be in a sorority and was involved with recruitment, and I can confirm that the more unattractive and socially awkward girls are hidden during recruitment by being given tasks that reduce their exposure to pnms. In fact, each sister was given a number rating based on how good she'd be at recruiting, and although personality and social skills were taken into account along with appearance, it was still very superficial, problematic, and objectifying. The highly rated girls would be given more involved roles whereas the lowest rated ones were basically undesirables and would be hidden as much as they could without raising suspicion. It made me uncomfortable but I just assumed that this is what all sororities do, although that doesn't make it right by any means. I'm glad people are finally talking about this but is anyone really surprised when the whole Greek system is so superficial anyway?

Some of its self selection, ie girls who are more awkward or just bad at rush choose to be on drinks committee or computer chairs, stuff like that. But some sororities literally do hide their members and essentially not let them participate. The only sorority I can confirm that does this is APhi but I doubt they are the only ones
