what i wish i'd known going into rush
by: Non-Greek
Sorority rush is a very overwhelming experience. I went into it knowing nothing about the sororities and although that let me make up my own mind, I wish I'd known a little bit about each one beforehand. However I'm happy with where I ended up and hope you will be too! And if you don't find a fit (a shocking number of girls drop or get dropped by all but one or two), you'll be totally fine
General stereotypes (not 100% true but there's some truth, roughly ranked within tiers)
Top Tier - notorious dirty rushers, need money connections looks
Tri Delt: party the hardest, Elmo groupies
Kappa: more southern vibe, vape on their porch lol
Theta: consider the meanest, most stuck up (who knows)
Pi Phi: free spirits, middle tier but top because of "history"
Middle Tier - wide variety, where most end up
APhi: considered hottest/tied w Tri Delt, catty, superficial
DG: good looking but very catty, lots of drama within
DZ: rejects from two above, "easy DZ" (but that's very rude and unfair)
AXO: self proclaimed "chill chicks", "one of the boys"
Chi O: very sweet and southern, known for being religious
ZTA: great philan, wish they were Tri Delt or even DG/APhi
ADPi: very nice but bland, can't say much bad about them
SSS: nice and pretty chill, still forming a cohesive identity
SK: similar to ADPi, care a lot about their rank
Bottom - still great choices, just more "out there"
KD: very sweet, more quirky and feminist vibe
GPB: motherly vibe, don't care about ranks
Sig Delt: trying to improve, just got a house!

👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼 Good stuff. I agree that these are the things that I wish I had known, especially about how many people drop. Half my friends did. But remember that these are stereotypes and none are true for every single girl. Each sorority is a mixed bag. Just follow your gut and go where you feel is right for you!
