So I'm not completely sure because I'm not the recruitment chair, but I think with the quota system, each chapter will take pretty much the same number.

All sororities will take second years. It just depends on what their needs are - for example, if they had sister drop, graduate early, go abroad, etc. Their nationals may also want them to up numbers. It depends on a lot of factors. I would go into rush with confidence and make the decision that no one else gets to steal your happiness or joy. Those things can't be defined by what others think.

Will any sororities take 3rd years?

@hoo Yes, some will take and be excited to recruit third years because of all the reasons I mentioned above. There are almost always openings and nationals wants/ requires houses be filled. My sorority took third years and they were some of the best women we got! You don't know what the sororities' needs are, so I'd go into it and just be open minded and see what you think of the women you meet. I don't want to set you up for disappointment, so I will be candid that I suspect third years will face tougher cuts but that does not mean you won't still have an option or two -- or who knows how many! Something I learned the hard way is that I wanted to be in the house that wanted me! Best wishes and have fun!

It’s really important to have a couple of friends in the sorority to rush as a second year but it’s defini possible!

For the past two years (including this year) all sororities have been required to take upperclassmen. They are split out separately from first years in the matching process, so as a second year you are only competing against other second years for a bid. But every house will have to take roughly the same amount!
